Principles and guidelines for the Exploration Process in the Person-Centered Expressive Arts Workshop and Group

Feelings can speak
I invite you to be aware of your feelings, which are the potential energy that promotes our creative expression.

There is no right or wrong
You are free to create art; there is no absolute "right" or "wrong" way to create art. Your work will not be graded. Through creating art, we can discover our inner nature.

Take care of yourself
Please pay attention to your body and take care of its needs; for example, dancing makes you sweat, so you can replenish water as needed.

Be the Boss
All the instructions given by the facilitator are just suggestions; you have the right to choose not to accept the suggestions. Be your own boss here and we respect your choice.

Release and let go
This journey may bring up different emotions, please don’t mind: you can cry, make noises, etc., and use whatever methods you think are helpful to relieve yourself. You are permitted.

Participate passively
If you choose to be an observer in a group, you can pay attention to the group's interactions or indirectly enjoy the experience; however, please do not criticize others.

Confidentiality
Each member must abide by the principle of confidentiality; you may have the opportunity to tell others about your personal experience in this group, but please do not reveal the individual experience and name of any member (unless you have obtained the other party's consent in advance). Your participation and consensus allow us to maintain a space of mutual trust.

Photography and Video/Audio
You can take photos of your own artworks during the creation process for record keeping; however, please do not take photos, record or make audio recordings while others are creating. You can only take photos or record others’ artistic expressions/works after the art creation session is over and with their consent. Please understand that the other party also has the right to refuse your invitation and does not want their work to be recorded. We need to respect each other’s wishes.
